Vermont Vision Report
Our team had a great weekend in Vermont! We started our trip by visiting the Haystack Prayer Monument in Williamstown, MA. This is the location where the International Mission Movement in the United States began in 1806. We spent about an hour at this site talking and praying. This is one of my favorite spots in New England.
From there we went to Northeastern Baptist College to tour and meet with president Mark Ballard. This college is the only conservative Christian college in all of New England. Northeastern continues to grow and people are being won to faith in Christ. But there is still so much to do!
On Saturday we met with several different leaders, church planters, and pastors. We provided a fajita lunch to all the church planters and their families in Vermont. About 40
people joined us at Lake St. Catherine State Park on Saturday.
There are about 50 Southern Baptist churches in Vermont but there are 251 cities and towns. Many towns have no Bible teaching evangelical presence at all. There is a great need for church planters, youth leaders, worship leaders, mission teams, prayer warriors, and more.
We are praying about how our association and our churches might partner with the work in Vermont and New England. Would you join us in praying? Would you pray about joining a mission team in Vermont in the future? Would you pray about leading a mission team to Vermont? Would you pray about serving in Vermont for a month, 2 months, 6 months, or more?
