Vermont Mission Trip 2026

We set out on July 9th to minister to pastors and their families serving the Lord in New England, in Vermont specifically. We’ve been partnered with the state of Vermont for 5 years and this is the 4th year leading a retreat for pastor families. This year we took our largest team to the retreat, 28 from 7 different churches. Over half of this group had not been to the retreat so they were learning on the fly. We had 11 families from New England come to the retreat at the White Mountain Camp outside of Rumney, New Hampshire.

We played in the lake, hung out by the fire, worshipped together, prayed together, talked about ministry, church, and life. It was a wonderful time to refresh for ministry.

Our main purpose was to provide a time of refreshment, rejuvenation, to reenergize these faithful servants for the work the Lord has called them to do. Most of these families serve in areas where there are few if any other evangelical churches. They are on the frontlines of the gospel, enduring active opposition unlike anything we typically see in East Texas.

We also met with the new president of Northeastern Baptist College in Bennington, VT.  Mark Howell has a God-sized task leading this college as they train up leaders in New England. We visited the Haystack Prayer Monument where the modern foreign mission movement in the United States began. We hosted a picnic for pastors and their families at the Silver Lake State park. We visited three churches on Sunday, with 2 of our pastors preaching. One of the churches was meeting for only the second time officially. We closed the trip by visiting the Minuteman National Historical park where the first shots of the Revolutionary War were fired in Concord, MA.

We are thankful for the support of our churches that allowed us to send so many to Vermont and to have such a great impact on pastors and their families. It’s a privilege to serve this association of churches.
