Church Revitalization
Church Revitalization has been happening since the beginning of the church. Paul’s letters to churches were often focused on helping the church regain focus or confront issues that were hindering the work of the church. The letters to the churches in Revelation were all focused on revitalizing a local church. Modern work to revitalize churches has taken the form of revival meetings, lay renewal weekends, long range planning and vision planning, and many other efforts to focus the church on the mission to take the gospel to the world.
Our revitalization team is focused on helping churches at any stage of the Life Cycle to reengage with the mission.
Our goal is to help churches be healthy and engaged in the Great Commission. We stand ready to help churches within our association whatever the need. Whether you need an outsider’s view of your processes, ideas on how to get over a growth barrier, help understanding your community and how to reach it, or a complete reengineering of your structure, we can help.
Unity Baptist Association churches are also keenly aware of the state of the church in America. We know that 900 churches close their doors every year. We know that thousands of churches are in crisis today and that reality is certainly true in Polk and Angelina counties. We are concerned about churches that are struggling, either because of demographic changes, aging population, internal strife, or any of the other myriad reasons affecting churches today.
We are prepared to support those leaders who are ready to go through the arduous task of revitalization or even replanting. We are committed to raising up, encouraging, and supporting leaders who will step into difficult situations to help churches bring glory to God through revitalization. We are committing all types of resources to this task: including finances, materials, and people. Our preference is to see churches become vibrant hubs of ministry in all types of communities.
Pastors and churches who are interested in any level of revitalization should contact Steve Brazzel. We want to understand your needs and help bring about the best possible result for the kingdom.
