Unlock Your Calling: Discipleship and Spiritual Formation at the UBA School of Ministry

Step into your God-given calling with confidence and purpose. The UBA School of Ministry is designed to empower pastors, ministry leaders, and those called to serve with the tools, wisdom, and community needed to thrive in ministry.

This semester features a new two-track format tailored specifically for those called to the pastor role and those fulfilling other vital ministry leadership roles in the local church. Our core focus this term is discipleship and spiritual formation.

Join us for a transformative 6-week course:

Course Structure: Two Tracks

To provide the most targeted and impactful training, our classes bring all leaders together for the first four weeks to build a unified foundation, then split into specialized tracks for the final two weeks based on your area of service.

Weeks 1–4: Combined Track (All Participants Together)

• Week 1: Spiritual Formation – Darryl Smith, Interim Pastor at Providence Baptist

  • Personal devotional life and daily spiritual growth

  • The character of a ministry leader

  • Maintaining healthy life and ministry balance

• Weeks 2–4: Discipleship & Theology – Steve Brazzel, DOM at UBA & Sonny Hathaway, Pastor at Central Baptist

  • Establishing a baseline of biblical belief

  • Exploring what every disciple should know

  • Core doctrines of the Christian faith

Weeks 5–6: Specialized Tracks

• For those on a Pastor Path – Steve Brazzel & Stephen Forrest, Pastor at FBC, Zavalla

  • How to build and drive discipleship strategies in a local church

  • Implementing effective discipleship systems within a traditional church setting

• For Other Ministry Leaders – Brad Pixley, Pastor at Pollok Baptist

  • Expository teaching principles, preparation, and hands-on practice
