When disaster strikes, people can lose almost everything in a moment—homes, possessions, security, and often a sense of hope. In those moments, followers of Jesus have a special opportunity to step in, meet physical needs, and point hurting people to the hope of the gospel.

Jesus said:

“For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink…”
— Matthew 25:35

As churches of the Unity Baptist Association in Angelina and Polk Counties, we are partnering with SBTC Disaster Relief through our UBA Mass Feeding Unit. This ministry prepares and serves hot meals to disaster survivors, first responders, and volunteers in the name of Jesus.

We are currently looking for volunteers from our churches who are willing to:

• Receive basic disaster relief and feeding unit training
• Serve on call when deployments are needed (as you are available)
• Help with cooking, serving, cleaning, logistics, and encouragement
• Pray for and share the hope of Christ with those we serve

You don’t have to be a professional cook to help. If you love the Lord, are willing to work as part of a team, and have a heart to serve people in crisis, there is a place for you.

“If a brother or sister is without clothes and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, stay warm, and be well fed,’ but you don’t give them what the body needs, what good is it?”
